About Me

I'm Stevie and I'm using this blog to document my coaching experiences within community sport.

I've recently graduated from Liverpool John Moores University achieving a BA Hons Sport Development with Inclusion. My primary focus within social inclusion was on female participation in sport and physical activity, undertaking a research project on the role of socio-economic status in affecting female participation in one North-West City.

I started coaching in 2007 as part of a college module and since then have coached in primary and secondary schools, HE, community festivals, community sports clubs and on social inclusion programmes (more details can be found here). My focus is not to be working within a club academy or at the excellence level but to be a good community coach that allows each participant to enjoy sport for what it is and allow them fulfil their potential.

I'm currently the head coach of an under 10s team in Oldham.
